Call the Midwife, the BAFTA and NTA winning drama following the lives of a group of midwives working in the poverty-stricken East End of London during the 1950s, has become one of the BBC’s best loved dramas in recent years. Joining us for the final event of the Festival in a Factory 2018 will be Executive Producer Dame Pippa Harris and actress Jennifer Kirby who plays Valerie Dyer (above left) to discuss with BBC Radio 4 Women’s Hour presenter Dame Jenni Murray, the incredible success of the series which has recently finished its seventh season.
One of the UK’s most successful producers, Pippa has also produced for television the critically acclaimed BAFTA nominated Shakespeare film series The Hollow Crown and the new Sky Atlantic hit, Britannia. Jennifer is an experienced stage actress who has played Katherine in The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Henry V and Lady Percy in Henry IV and has also made many tv appearances.
