Sarah Sands was appointed in 2017 as the first person from outside of the BBC ever to run Radio 4’s Today in the year it marked it’s  60th anniversary and is only the second woman to ever edit the programme.

A former editor of the Sunday Telegraph, who also spent five years editing the Evening Standard, Sarah will be in conversation with festival trustee Tristram Hunt about her first year at the helm of the BBC’s flagship news and current affairs programme.
